What is the cost to register on this site?

Nothing. There are no registration fees for buyers or sellers.

How much does it cost for sellers to place listings?

Is this site secure?

Yes. Your transactions are protected by the latest encryption technology.

How do I find what I'm looking for?

You have several options:

  • We offer a quick search form on the front page for you to enter keywords to search.
  • We offer an Advanced Search page for you to refine your search criteria.
  • We offer browsing filters when you are browsing by category.
  • If you already know what you are looking for you can browse the categories listed on the left side of the site's pages.

Can I save items to revisit later?

Yes. You can maintain your own "favorites" list within your account. Each listing on our site has an "add to favorites" link. Simply click that link and we will add that item to your favorites list.

What if I can't find what I am looking for?

You can set up search filters within your account area. Our site will then screen all new listings, as they are placed on the site, and if an item is listed that meets your filter (search) criteria, we will automatically send you an email notification.

How do buyers and sellers communicate with each other?

We provide buyers with the ability to contact the seller through a form that is accessible on each of the seller's listing pages. The seller will then be notified by email of the buyer's questions and the seller can either reply by email or log in to their account and reply through our onsite messaging system. The seller can choose to keep their email address anonymous.

Can I sell anything on the Trading Post?

No, we do have a few types of items we will not advertise on our program. Firearms, dangerous or hazardous items. If these items are submitted they will be filtered out immediately.

How can I submit an item or items other than online?

We strongly encourage you to submit all items online but we will also accept items that are dropped off at our office (1119 E. Plaza Drive, Carroll, IA), or mailed in (P.O. Box 886, Carroll, IA 51401), or faxed (712-792-6667).

How long are items kept active?

All FREE Trading Post Items will be active for 14 days after they are submitted. Our paid for Classified ads offer monetary options for you to consider.

Trading Post vs. Classified listing?

We have added new features and a new look to our Trading Post program. Just like in the past you can submit the following Trading Post items for FREE: household items, furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, office equipment, etc.

But now you will be able to submit classified ads such as house for rent/sale, apartments, job openings, business services, event tickets, autos, garage sales, auction, etc. These types of classifieds are a paid service using the secure payment service online. The way your classified will be seen is through our in-house multimedia advertising (radio, CBTV, website) driving listeners and viewers to this new program.

What if your item didn't sell?

After your item becomes inactive you may resubmit your item again.

When is the Trading Post read on-air?

All trading post items are read on our daily Trading Post Program at 7:30am and then re-broadcasts at 4:50pm Monday through Friday on 1380 KCIM. Plus don't forget about our live Trading Post Program featured every Saturday at 10:15am on 1380 KCIM

What is the Cancellation Policy?

Effective Date: 04/08/2013

This Web site, tradingpost.1380kcim.com, is owned and operated by Carroll Broadcasting Company. All cancellations must be received at least 2 hours from the time the ad was submitted (Cancellations must be received by either calling 712-792-4321, or fax 712-792-6667, or email to tradingpost@carrollbroadcasting.com). All cancellations must contain the following: First name, last name, item number, and email address. This information must be identical to the information originally submitted on your order. Please provide contact information so that we may contact you if we have questions in regards to canceling your order. Refunds will be issued by check. Please allow two weeks for processing.
